1. Israel has NOT given any independence or sovereignty to Palestinians in Gaza
2. CLA (Coordination and Liaison Administration) & COGAT (Gaza Coordination and Liaison Administration) are Israeli Government organisations who control everything that goes in or out of Gaza. 
3. Gaza has NO sea ports, NO airports, NO international trade, etc. They cannot even decide how much food, medicine or fuel can come in or out without the permission of Israel
4. There are walls (~65 kms long, 6m high) & fences, checkpoints, watch towers, CCTV cameras, radars, sensors, etc
5. How can anyone look at the occupation as it is today and call it leaving them alone or giving them any sense of independence or autonomy
6. Most Human rights organisations call it an occupation
7. Yes the settlers were removed but they were illegal anyway. The occupation never ended

1. The aid provided is usually in the form of food, medical or hygiene supplies. Where is the evidence that aid, especially financial capital or otherwise has been stolen? 
2. A nation cannot be Occupied & Independent simultaneously – This is a contradiction
3. How can people under occupation develop themselves when they have NO autonomy, no airports, no sea ports, no international trade, etc. They have NO independence. They cannot decide what goes in or out
4. Gaza is a concentration camp. One of the most densely populated places on Earth
5. It has ~45% children. ~70% inhabitants of Gaza are refugees from 1948 for 75+ years. There is ~50% unemployment & extreme food insecurity 
6. In 2005, Israel only removed settlers. The army was still at the borders. Israel controlled what goes in and out via CLA and COGAT
7. Most humanitarian Organisations call it occupation
8. Hamas won an honest election in 2006. Hamas had social services as well

When you read the official reports, even when you read the human rights reports, they talk about this big arsenal of weapons that Hamas has accumulated. Number one, how do you know how many weapons they have? If you knew how many weapons they had—, then you must know where they are. And if you know where they are, then Israel would preemptively strike. If it’s not preemptively struck, it’s because it doesn’t know anything about the weapons. Israel plucks numbers out of thin air, and then all the official media, and even the critical human rights organisations, repeat these numbers

Hamas are Ter*orists❌

1. The term “ter*orist” is becoming meaningless – it is used by the colonizer to label the enemy to dehumanize and kill them indiscriminately 
2. Menachem Begin was the leader of the Zionist Militant group called Irgun. They blew up the King David Hotel (women and children who were British were killed) and Irgun was declared a te**rist organisation (along with others such as Lohamey Heruth Israel or Lehi. (US Office of Justice). These te**or organisations were crucial in the founding of Israel (TRT) Menachem Begin later became the Prime Minister of Israel
3. On April 9, 1948, Irgun and Lehi militants jointly committed the Deir Yassin massacre
4. The British started brutally occupying, displacing the Kikuyu people of Kenya in the late 19th century. The resistance (Mau Mau) in 1950s were labelled ter*orists as well by the British (Britannica)
5. Prior to Oslo Accords, the PLO (Palestinian Liberation Organization) were called ter*orists by USA in 1987 (Cornell Law School)
6. Sons of liberty (Samuel Adams) were called ter*orist by British (Britannica)
7. The ANC (African National Congress) were called ter*orists by the USA & UK until 1990 and Nelson Mandella was on the ter**r list until 2008 (Time)

1. This is false and propaganda
2. According to article 16 of their Charter quote “Hamas affirms that its conflict is with the Zionist project not with the Jews because of their religion. Hamas does not wage a struggle against the Jews because they are Jewish but wages a struggle against the Zionists who occupy Palestine.”

4. It is in fact Israeli politicians like Netanyahu who repeatedly use terms like Amalek

The people voted for Hamas, so they are all complicit❌

1. This is untrue. ~45% of the population today are children (under age of 18) Many of them were not alive in 2006 or at least unable to vote
2. Hamas did not get majority of the vote (Mehdi Hasan) (Slate)
3. Hamas was not popular before 7 Oct 2023 (survey)
4. Even if everyone in Gaza voted for Hamas, they are still civilians and should not be targeted. This is against international law
5. Also, if people voted for someone in 2006, they are not responsible for their behavior in the future
6. The people who attacked the USA on 9/11 used the same logic, that these people voted for American governments so we can attack them

Why doesn’t Hamas surrender and give up hostages❌

1. History paints a different picture about the acts of Israel. In 1982, Israel invaded Lebanon to end the presence of PLO there. They besieged Beirut for ~2 months and a ceasefire was brokered by the USA with the guarantee that the civilian population would be protected by a western multinational force. These forces left after 10 days. ~2,000 civilians incl. men, women and children were massacred in Sabra and Shatila under the supervision of Israeli troops. Palestinians know this about Israel 
2. There is NO Hamas control in the West bank. Why are there still murders, illegal imprisoning even of children, bulldozing, dispossessions & illegal settlements there? The west bank Palestinians are very peaceful but what do they get in return?
3. Between 7. Oct 2023 and 16. Dec 2023 – 288 Palestinians have been killed in the West Bank (where there is no Hamas control) (AA)
4. You may believe that Palestinians will surrender their weapons in Gaza and rely on peaceful protests, articles, infographics & vibes. That’s not gonna solve it
5. People of Gaza marched for ~2 years peacefully (called the Great March of Return). 223 innocent Palestinians were killed by Israeli soldiers (mostly snipers) while protesting peacefully. 46 of them were minors under the age of 18. Additionally they injured 8,079 protestors with live fire (btselem)

4. Hamas was only formed in 1987 whereas the illegal brutal occupation by Israel has been ongoing since May 1948
5. The US spent $2.3 trillion for 20 years & couldn’t destroy the Taliban because the US speaks the language of violence
6. The US has spent $8 trillion (Brown University) & killed 4.5 million people (Brown University) in the war on terror and still not won
   1. Iraq war was a huge failure as well
7. Hamas cannot be destroyed with violence as Israel is trying to do
8. Lift the occupation, give equal rights to Palestinians including the Right of Return. That is the solution

Ceasefire will give Hamas rest & they must be destroyed otherwise they will destroy Israel❌

1. Hamas is not just military. There are other wings i.e. govt, aid, student movement, women’s movement, etc. 
2. No one clearly knows where the military is exactly staying  or how they are living there. No one even knows how they are being refueled or resupplied
3. Attack on civilians & infrastructure does NOT affect them
4. Bombing & collective punishment of civilian population & infrastructure are war crimes
5. Ceasefire means adherence to international law. Ceasefire is not a favour or a sign of goodwill from Israel, ceasefire is a requirement of international law
6. Hamas does not pose an existential threat to Israel 
7. The GFP index denotes Israel as a Top 20 global military power in 2023 (GFP)
8. Israel has a strong military with nuclear weapons. The asymmetry is too significant

Hamas or Gazans should pursue peaceful and legal channels❌

1. Palestinian people along with the majority of the world have been legally presenting resolutions to the United Nations in pursuit of Palestinian self determination for 50+ years, however America continuously vetoes those resolutions in favour of Israel (List of US Vetoes for Israel)
2. People of Gaza marched for ~2 years peacefully (called the Great March of Return in 2018-2019). 223 innocent Palestinians were killed by Israeli soldiers (mostly snipers) while protesting peacefully
   1. 46 of them were minors under the age of 18
   2. Additionally they injured 8,079 protestors with live fire (btselem)
3. It’s unrealistic to expect that Palestinians will surrender their weapons in Gaza and rely on peaceful protests, articles, infographics & vibes. That’s not gonna solve it

7. Number of hospitals, schools, mosques, churches, refugee camps, UN offices that have been bombed are significantly higher (Eur Med Human Rights Monitor) (UN)
8. UN staff murdered highest in any war, with at least 88 killed so far (Guardian)
9. Over 110 Palestinian journalists have been killed since Israel began its assault on the territory following the October 7 (Democracy Now)
   1. By comparison, 63 journalists were killed in the Vietnam War that lasted two decades, and a total of 69 killed in World War II (1939-45) – the bloodiest war the modern world has seen (al Jazeera)
