Part 2
2 Al Baqara contd
The Cow
Ancestors & Ties on Day of Judgement
- The communities of past were mentioned & they face their account. You are held accountable for what you have done. We should focus on ourself not ancestors or blame past
- Aya 170. People do not follow because they follow the way of ancestors. What if the ancestors did not know correct. Majority of time we reject truth because it clashes with culture and religion of ancestors.
- Moralities in our time are not even very old. Some of them (like homosexuality) are just few years old. Our values change night and day but word of Allah is absolute truth and eternal.
- On day of judgement ancestors will not save you. Followed will disown their followers. Both will be punished. Their ties to each other will cut off. Everyone comes alone on day of judgement. Others will cut off from you.

Righteousness is belief in Allah, angels prophets book, gives wealth to family needy, pray and zakah, honor contracts, they are steadfast in calamity. Islam is a balance between laws and spirituality.

- Just war is necessary in Islam. In Islam war is only allowed for sake of Allah and hereafter. There is no war for dunya, land or wealth. Civil war and anarchy is worse than going to war. Aya 251 had not one group stopped another from war the entire earth would be ruined and Allāh is merciful.
- Muslim ummah spread the civilisation of Islam but we never use force to convert people explicitly mentioned in this Surah. Legitimate just war theory is clear and accepted by majority Muslims.

In another Allāh says spend from the pure wealth you have earned (it’s important to go out and make effort and earn, don’t sit back).
- Shaytaan promises you poverty and encourages immorality. Allah is promising you forgiveness and promising you even more. Allah will destroy riba and give you more when you give charity.
- Aya 263 a kind word is better than charity followed by nuisance or arrogance. Allah is free of need. Be humble when you give charity.
