Introduction – Heedlessness of Humans
- Mankind reckoning closer even though they are in complete heedlessness. Never does a fresh reminder come from Rabb except they remain in play.
- Allah has sent prophets and revealed books to prepare for judgement
Arguments Against Pagans
- Summary of Arguments (pagans were unaware of this)
- Existence of Allah
- Prophets are humans
- Message comes as Quran. Message has been same since beginning
- Certainty of death and Day of Judgement
- Purpose of life is a test to do good deeds
- We have not sent before you people except to remind and inspire. If you don’t know ask people of knowledge.
- Allah does not grant immortality to any human. Not even the prophets. (Aya 34)
- We should remember death all the time and act accordingly.
- Aya 35 Every souls shall taste death. We are testing you with good and evil and you shall return to us.
- Every situation in life good or bad is a test from Allāh.
- The message of theology of prophets has always been the same. Laws may change but theology is the same. (Aya 25)
Quran Gives the Believer Prestige
- Aya 10: We have sent down a book. In this book is your Dhikr. Won’t you understand.
- Meaning 1: Quran is a dhikr that reminds us to be righteous.
- Meaning 2: Quran followers will also be given prestige. Dhikr is an honor for Muslims. Good deeds and Sadqa Jariya will give you prestige and Hasanat even after you die.
- Aya 45 Say I am warning you only from inspiration from Allāh.
Creation has a Purpose – Not for Play
- Aya 16 We didn’t create all of this heavens and earth for amusement
- Aya 17 if we wanted to create amusement we would have done it from within us – If we were to do so
- Allah does not play or amuse ayudhubillah.
Power of Creation of Allāh
- Aya 30 Don’t those who reject Allāh see that heavens and earth were one mass and we tore them apart and we created form water every single living thing.
- Quran is not a book of science or physics. It is a book of guidance. Ayat of science do exist but these are not supposed to be used to check against science and prove if Quran is correct or not. Quran stands on its own.
- Science is human effort to understand the universe and creation of Allah around us and humans make mistakes and human understanding keeps changing.
Truth Vs Falsehood
- Victory of Truth and evidence of Allahs existence are so clear any sincere person would be guided and understand.
- Aya 18 We shall hurl the truth against falsehood and the truth shall crush falsehood.
Stories of Prophets
- Ibrahim عليه السلام
- Story of Ibrahim as a young boy and destroying idols and how they threw him in the fire and the fire became cold and peaceful for him.
- Lut عليه السلام
- Aya 74 We saved Lut from a town who did filthy deeds.
- Actions of his nation are called filth.
- Dawud & Suleman عليه السلام
- Wisdom and Knowledge given to both.
- How suleman made judgement between the two who had dispute over sheep over running. Aya 78.
- A farmer owned land and shepherd owned livestock. Livestock entered one day and ate farmers vegetation.
- Judgement by Suleman that farmer keeps the Sheep until farm grows back.
- Dawud had ability to sing praise of Allah with birds and mountains
- Dawud’s ability to create armour. Aya 80
- Suleman’s ability to control the wind. Aya 81
- Suleman’s ability to control Jinn. Aya 82.
- Ayub عليه السلام
- Ayub عليه السلام Story of how he was suffering with three trials 1. Wealth taken 2. Family was killed 3. Health was taken.
- Dua made by Ayub “Indeed adversity has touched me and you are the most merciful of the merciful”Aya 83.
- He was given back all taken away and increased.
- Yunus عليه السلام Dua
- Yunus عليه السلام left his town in anger and swallowed by the whale. He made the Dua “There is deity except you, exalted are you. Indeed I have been of the wrongdoers. Aya 87
- Allah responded to his Dua and saved him. Aya 88.
- Prophet ﷺ said in hadith any Muslim that uses this Dua in a situation of distress or grief Allah will respond to him.
Conclusion – Description of Day of Judgement – Prophet ﷺ is Mercy
- The righteous amongst my servants will be far removed from all going on. They will not even hear the hissing of the fire. They will be protected by Allah. Aya 101-102
- Prophet ﷺ has been sent as a mercy to all of creation. Aya 107
22 Al Hajj
Partial Late Makki Partial early Madini – 78 Ayaat
- Ibrahim عليه السلام is commanded to announce to mankind to perform Hajj
- Methodology of Hajj disclosed
- Harsh tones towards pagans of Makkah because muslims severely persecuted at end of Makki period and assassination attempts on the Prophet ﷺ. Permission is given to wage war against pagans of Makkah.
- Aya 25 Allāh criticises Quraish from preventing people from worshipping Allah in Kaaba.

- Methodology of Hajj
Reality of Day of Judgement
- Judgement day is a reality. Aya 1
- Nursing mother will discard infant. Pregnant women will abort. People will walk around drunk but they will not be drunk. Aya 2.
- Allah created humans in various phases. Some die early some die late by losing memory. Shows how Allāh can recreate life. Aya 5.
Conditional Religiosity Criticised
- Dire warning against those who only worship in good times.
- Aya 11. There are those who worship Allāh only on the edge. If he is touched by good he is reassured by it. But if he is struck by trial he turns on his face. He has lost the world and the hereafter. That is manifest loss
Why Hajj & Announcement of Ibrahim
- Ibrahim built the house for Hajj for people to purify themselves make sacrifice of animals. They will witness something sanctified. Aya 28-29
- Ibrahim was told to perform Adhan for Hajj. He said no one will listen. Allah said your job is to convey my job is to bring. Aya 26-27.
- People will come walking and all means of transportation from all the corners of the world
Sanctity of the Sacred
- What Allāh has made sacred then a sign of imam is to show respect to these. Aya 30-32
Why do Rituals – Taqwa Reaches Allāh not Meat
- Aya 67 for every single nation we have legislated acts of ritual.
- Aya 37 neither the flesh or blood reached Allāh. What reaches Allāh is the righteousness and Taqwa.
- This applies to all worship and rituals. Praying, fasting, etc. What reaches Allāh is our Taqwa and Effort.
Criticism of Quraish – War Permission
- Those who dare stop people from praying in jaana or performing Hajj.
- Aya 25 The people who reject Allāh and prevent people from worship in Hajj know that All people are equal for kaaba and people living in Makkah or Visitor of Makkah are equals. Whoever commits any unholy act their punishment will be severe.
- Aya 38 Allāh will defend the believers against those who attack. Allah does not love the ungrateful traitors
- Aya 39 Permission is given to those who have been fought that they can also now fight and indeed Allah will be given victory
- Aya 40 Those who were evicted from houses simply for saying we believe in Allāh. Were it not for the fact that Allāh checked some people against others then all masajid of Allah would have been destroyed.
- A reason behind war is to protect the worship of Allah. Just war theory. When is jihad allowed

Idols Can’t Even Create A Fly
- Aya 73 “o people a parable is being presented so pay attention. Those whom you call out to other than Allāh they cannot even create a Fly even if they all came together to do it and if the fly were to steal something from them they couldn’t even recover it back from the fly. How weak is the pursuer and the pursued.” Idol worshipper and idols are both weak.
Islam is Religion of Ibrahim عليه السلام
- Aya 77: O believers bow down to Allah prostate to Allah and do good deeds.
- Aya 78: Struggle for sake of Allah they way worthy. He has chosen you o Muslim and he has not placed any difficulty in this religion. This religion is the religion of your forefather Ibrahim. He has called you muslim. Seek help from Allah for protection indeed what a beautiful protector and source of help is Allāh.
